Design and code from specifications and analyze, evaluate, test, debug, document and implement complex software applications. Specifically, this will include: Develop and maintain code developed in Java/J2EE using User-Centered Design for a scalable, secure and service-oriented solution; Develop unique client solutions that use a web-based solution for the customer facing interfaces but interact with XML data feeds and J2EE based solutions on the back end to provide dynamic content and functionality; Work with the team to understand the business requirements and functional specifications; Work with the Application Development team for code build/releases, test case design and defect resolution; Work with the Team Lead/Project Manager for planning, estimation, documentation and status reporting; and, Assist in the design and development of new application in technologies such as: Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Rich Internet Applications (RIA), Occasionally Connected Clients (OCC), and Mobile Applications.

Requires US or foreign Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and five years of total experience in IT consulting for large corporations or government agencies, 5 years developing database-driven applications using Java, Oracle database and either WebLogic or Websphere application server; 3 years of experience developing user interfaces with a framework such as Struts, Spring, or Hibernate; 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in developing complex business applications through all phases of the development life cycle using a common design/development methodologies such as Agile or RUP following J2EE Design Patterns; Excellent written and verbal communications required to thrive in high visibility consulting projects.

Company headquarters are located in Parkland, FL. This position is currently on temporary assignment in Albany, NY, and requires frequent relocation within the US to different client sites to initiate or support projects with new or existing clients; Projects typically last 6 months to 3 years.
